Maclean is a family owned New Zealand business that started in 1993 when Allan Maclean first heard the cry for an IT company that was down to earth, practical and focussed on helping business to grow.
Although the technology has come a long way since then, customer demands have not. Maclean prides itself on delivering the reliability and confidence of a robust IT infrastructure combined with practical advice and expertise to ensure customers IT systems are allowing them to grow.
From the Cloud to the desktop, whether it’s managing your email exchange server, outsourcing your infrastructure or virtual servers in the Cloud, we provide the up front advice, pro-active support and day-to-day maintenance to keep your business running and to take it further.
Staff
With a focus on building and supporting rock solid infrastructure, our team is separated into a Solutions Group and a Technical Services Team.
The Solutions Group encompasses all of the resources related to procurement, projects and professional services. The Technical Services team includes all the monitoring, maintenance, service desk and support (on-site and remote).

Chris Maclean
- CEO, Director & Owner
Chris Maclean is a majority shareholder, a director and CEO of Maclean Technology. Chris has a long-established history in the IT industry including a career in IT in the United Kingdom where he held roles with fast-growing IT businesses QAS (now owned by Experian), MessageLabs (now owned by Symantec) and Mercator & Ascential Software (now owned by IBM). The IBM role brought him back to New Zealand, after which he joined the family business. Chris has a Bachelor of Commerce with double majors in Management & Marketing, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing; all from Otago University. Chris is a family-man, and with his wife Amy live in Greenhithe with their two young children, Eloise & Edward.

Matthew Bellingham
- Director & Owner
Matthew is a Director at Bellingham Wallace, an innovative chartered accountancy practice that specialises in working beyond the numbers to help their clients’ businesses stay future fit. Matthew currently chairs the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants' (NZICA) Public Practice Advisory Board; a national board that is responsible for advising NZICA on all matters pertaining to accountants in public practice. Passion for helping business and the community prosper has seen Matthew hold a number of key positions, including: Chairman of Judges for the Auckland North Business Awards , trustee of the North Harbour Stadium, President of the North Harbour Club and Chairperson of the Albany Business Association from 2003 to 2008. As well as having extensive experience as a director of several companies and not-for-profit boards, Matthew is also regularly invited to speak at business seminars and authors business improvement articles for a number of publications.
Allan Maclean
- Customer Experience Manager
Allan Maclean, Chris' father, established the well-known predecessor to Maclean Technology, Maclean Computing Ltd. in 1993. A true pioneer of the IT industry in New Zealand, Allan remains hugely passionate about the industry and works closely with Chris in both a mentoring capacity and in his role as Customer Experience Manager.

Mark Burgess
- Operations & Finance Director
Mark Burgess came to New Zealand in 2008, following a distinguished career in the United Kingdom IT industry. Mark has a PhD in Business Management and a Masters in Computer Science.
